Entertainment

Takapuna bustles with cultural and sporting activities. The Bruce Mason Centre, Berkley movie theatres and the iconic Pumphouse Theatre offer shows, movies and concerts for all ages. The Takapuna Boating Club has a range of family-friendly membership options. Keen golfers are spoilt for choice with the Takapuna Golf Course, the Waitemata Golf Club in Devonport or the Golf Warehouse Driving Range. Lawn bowls and tennis clubs are only 5 minutes walk away.

Retail

Takapuna features a varied retail landscape with everything from boutique shopping on Hurstmere Road, fashion brands at The Department Store, chain stores at Shore City and the Milford Centre and big brand retailers in Wairau Park.

Nature

The North Shore is bounded by the beautiful Waitemata Harbour and the Hauraki Gulf, and offers stunning beaches, coastal walks and boating activities. At low tide you can even walk from Takapuna Beach to Cheltenham Beach in Devonport. Closer to home, you can enjoy the natural scenery of Lake Pupuke, Onewa Domain and the rocky shores between Takapuna Boat Ramp and Thorne Bay.

Education

The Loxley is in the zone for some of the best schools in Auckland – Takapuna School, Takapuna Normal Intermediate, Westlake Girls, Westlake Boys and Takapuna Grammar. The proximity to AUT University’s North Shore campus is excellent; public transport links to The University of Auckland or Massey University’s Albany campus make for an easy commute. For early-childhood, there are 3 pre-school centres only 2-3 minutes walk from The Loxley.

Dining

The variety of restaurants and cafés in Takapuna caters to all tastes with casual dining at Jam Organic Café, Takapuna Beach Café and the Fortieth and Hurstmere foodcourt; international fare at Artwok, Madam Woo, Tokyo Bay, Mexico and Tuk Tuk; and five-star dining at The Engine Room, Regatta, and The Commons.
